The UAE President and Ruler of Abu Dhabi HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan issued a decree on 15 March, 2023, appointing Mohammad Saeed Al Shehhi as Secretary-General of the Emirates Media Council.
Al Shehhi previously served as CEO at Dubai Design District (d3). Prior to that, he has held a number of prominent roles in the broadcast sector.
He served as CEO Strategy, Technology and Executive Affairs at Dubai Media Incorporated (DMI) and was known for developing corporate strategies and analyzing operational and performance efficiencies. He also launched DMI’s first native HD channels, developed technical infrastructure, and led DMI’s digital offering.
As Senior Director Media and Broadcast Services at du, Shehhi managed strategy and growth plans for the broadcast divisions, and expanded du’s media and broadcast services regionally. Under his leadership, the department had acquired more than 85% market share in the UAE and was ranked among the top 20 broadcast service providers in the world in 2010 by the World Teleport Association (WTA).
