UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah HH Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, visited U-PAK, leading manufacturers of single-use food packaging products in the Middle East since 2006.
As part of its latest expansion, U-PAK built Ras Al Khaimah’s first foam cup plant that is producing and selling nearly one million cups per day. HH Sheikh Saud was accompanied by Sheikh Ahmed bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Public Services Department in Ras Al Khaimah, Sheikh Mohammed bin Humaid Al Qasimi, Managing Director Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ), and Ramy Jallad, Group CEO RAKEZ.
During his visit, HH Sheikh Saud emphasized that the sustainable industrial sector was a major contributor to the local economy and the increase in investments in this sector was consistent with the emirate’s vision of providing an attractive environment that guarantees business development and continuity, which in turn will help in supporting the national economy.
He added that Ras Al Khaimah adopts a clear long-term strategy based on building a balanced economy with multiple resources and this economic flexibility helps the emirate to develop sustainable plans, enhance competitiveness, and become a leading destination in attracting major regional and international companies. The ruler also pointed out the keenness of Ras Al Khaimah to establish a culture of sustainability in various economic sectors by supporting and encouraging the transition to a more flexible and sustainable business management model with the adoption of modern technologies and innovative solutions, and for building a better future by managing resources and rationalizing resource consumption.
Abdul Aziz Al Serri, Founder and Group Vice Chairman of U-PAK, Saud Al Serri, U-PAK Group CEO, and Hamid Anwar, Deputy General Manager at U-PAK shared the company’s vision, strategic objectives, and further expansion plans in Ras Al Khaimah.
