The Printing and Publishing Group Committee election was held on September 18, 2013 at Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
A number of print professionals and representatives of top graphic arts suppliers including Heidelberg and Flint Ink attended the event and cast their votes. Saeed Al Najar Senior Executive of DCCI External Relations, Mazen Al Haj current president of the group, Zaher Hassan vice president and Sebastian Lonth general secretary of the group were among attendees. Mohammad Al Hashemi CEO of Emirates Trans Graphics was chosen as the chairman by absolute majority of the votes
Welcoming the attendees, Mazen Al Haj offered a recap of committee’s activities during last year. He also thanked the Chamber for its support and contribution and underscored the role of the group for promoting graphic arts in UAE and raising the bar on quality of printed products by organizing Print Awards.
The elected members are a mix of old and new faces including Mohammed Ali Al Hashimi, Zaher Hassan from Power Print and Sebastian lonth from Reprotronics as well as Eskander Jahanbani of ME Printer, Mazen El-Tibi from Heidelberg Middle East , Flint Group’s Anthony Murphy, Ahmed Khan representing Khaleej Times, Niles Siegel from Technotrans, and Andrew Hurt from Xerox Emirates.
