Pushing boundaries has been part of Pizza Hut’s heritage, ever since it was established way back in 1958 by the Carney brothers in Wichita, Kansas, USA. Today the multinational chain of pizza restaurants has more than 16,000 outlets in over 100 countries.
The food giant’s shibboleth of ‘we don’t just make pizza…. we make people happy’ has found a new meaning by targeting Gen Alpha and Gen Z, the next-gen navigators, by creating a gaming accessory meant to keep their favourite choice of pizza slices warm while they play.
Pizza Hut has unveiled the PIZZAWRMR, a 3D-printed box that sits atop the PlayStation5 (PS5), using the exhaust heat to warm pizzas. As it is designed to snugly affix to the top of the gaming console, with a tray that fits several slices, gamers can grab and enjoy their warm slices of pizza, even while they play. The device channels warmth from the gaming console’s warm air pipe straight to the pizzas slices. The device pulls inspiration from Pizza Hut’s red roof, where the lid seamlessly opens like a laptop for easy pizza access.
Besides pizzas, users can also keep and warm other flat-surfaced food on it.
PIZZAWRMR is not available for purchase in stores or online. Instead, Pizza Hut has given users 3D printing instructions to create the product by themselves. Users can also customise by modifying the design to suit their preferences.
