Kodak had recently organized a packaging event titled, ‘Do more with less’, which discussed numerous topics related to business development in packaging sector. The event was attended by professionals from the printing and packaging industry in the region.
Held at H Hotel in Dubai, the event highlighted the recent trends in the packaging sector as well as about the Kodak Flexcel NX technology and its impact on packaging.
Rashid Pasha, regional marketing manager of Kodak MEAF welcomed the audience to the event and thanked everyone for their keenness in attending the show. He highlighted the products offered by Kodak in the packaging sector and the services offered by the company to enable brand owners achieve maximum benefit from Kodak technology.
Komal Sharma, Managing Director of Kodak MEA observed that the printing industry is undergoing rapid transformation and Kodak is trying to keep pace with the changes by shifting its focus from film and photography sectors to the graphic communication segment. He considers this as a positive step in the company’s restructuring process. “We are now fully focused on our graphic communication segment. Our strategy is to focus on the leading developments in the printing business and on sustainable solutions that are of interest to a broad sector of the industry.”
Sharma added, “Kodak’s focus is on its functional printing technology, which was developed by the company, and also includes a wide range of applications including intelligent and interactive packaging solutions.”
Talking about the offset-digital competition, he said, “We recognize that offset still holds a significant part in business, while digital is growing at a rate of 20 to 30%. Kodak will continue to invest in offset as well as digital technologies.”
Kodak’s new partner for packaging solutions in the region – Grapholine- was introduced at the event. With the recent partnership, Grapholine will be the distributor of Kodak packaging solutions in the UAE and Gulf region.
