PACK EXPO International, the most comprehensive packaging and processing show in North America organized by the Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies (PMMI), is all set to open its doors on 23 October, 2022, at Chicago’s magnificent McCormick Place.
This year’s edition features more than ever before and an opportunity to experience a year’s worth of innovations. The over 2000 exhibitors will display the latest technology, some of them not even known to the attendees coming from 40+ vertical markets. Bagging, pouching, and wrapping equipment; cartoning, multipacking, and case packing; coding, labeling, and printing equipment; controls, software, and components; converting and package-forming equipment; conveying, feeding, and handling; e-commerce; filling, capping, and closing; industry affiliates; inspection and testing equipment; material handling and warehousing; materials, containers, and consumables; palletizing and load stabilization; plant facilities, infrastructure, and operations; processing equipment; professional and outside services; robot and end-of-arm tooling manufacturers; specialty equipment; sustainability; and tray, clamshell, and blister packaging equipment are some of the product categories of the featured exhibits.
New features in the four-day event include an interactive PACK celebrating the future role of packaging and processing, providing free industry-expert presentations on cutting-edge industry advancements; PACK Match providing complimentary personalized, one-to-one guidance with PACK Match Advisors to connect attendees to the right suppliers; the one-day Emerging Brands Summit featuring educational content, expert advisors, and tabletop exhibits aimed at founders and leaders of startup manufacturing companies looking to scale their brand to larger production; and a brand-new PepsiCo-sponsored PACK Challenge competition bringing high school teams together for a head-to-head machine building challenge.
The Forum will feature Q&A interactive sessions with small group discussions, with the floor show providing quick presentations on breakthrough technologies and techniques focussing on a wide range of industry-specific solutions.
PACK EXPO is a connoisseur’s choice for each and every detail in the industry. While the PACKage Printing Pavilion features digital printing and converting, labeling, coding, and market technologies; the Containers and Materials Pavilion looks for innovative containers and materials to meet sustainability goals, refresh a brand, or launch new products. The Confectionery Pavilion highlights candy trends and technologies; the Reusable Packaging Pavilion showcases reusable packaging solutions to help cut costs, gain supply chain efficiency, and reduce waste; the Education and Workforce Development Pavilion one-stop-shop for resources is to strengthen workforce; and the Association Partner Pavilion houses leading associations dedicated to advancing the packaging and processing industry.
Brand new pavilions have been added to make the show all the more dynamic. A premier destination will be the Processing Zone for the food and beverage producers seeking the most advanced processing equipment with nearly 200 exhibitors showing ways to increase safety, improve efficiency, and achieve total system integration in their line of business. The Healthcare Packaging Pavilion delivers supply chain solutions such as blister and powder packaging equipment, bottle fillers, cameras and sensors, robotics, perform pouches, and much more from companies manufacturing biologics, medical devices, nutraceuticals, and pharmaceuticals. Another new to the 2022 show is the Logistics Pavilion. With a boom in e-commerce, supply chain challenges are growing more complex, and logistics has become a crucial part in letting products reach the consumer. This pavilion provides solutions related to the supply chain, including distribution logistics services and transportation, fulfillment, and warehousing.
PACK EXPO International also offers additional programmes and activities for getting students excited about future careers in packaging and processing. The show also offers insights into women’s leadership in packaging and processing through specialized networking events that tackles timely issues facing women in the industry.
PACK EXPO’s annual event PACK gives BACK returns to PACK EXPO International and for the first time the “Windy City” will experience a musical performance, with headlining rock band Styx taking the centre stage.
