The Oman Ministry of Education signed a cooperation agreement with Occidental Oman to implement the specialized training programme in 3D printing, which aims to build students’ capabilities and empower them in the field of 3D engineering design with knowledge and skill.
The agreement was signed on the part of the Ministry of Education by His Excellency Majid bin Saeed bin Sulaiman Al Bahri, Undersecretary for Administrative and Financial Affairs, and Stephen Kelly, President and General Manager of Occidental Oman, at the Ministry’s general office.
H E Al Bahri had this to say about the agreement, “The signing of this agreement today comes to implement a specialized technical training programme in the field of three-dimensional engineering design directed to school teachers of grades 10-12 from various governorates of the Sultanate. It is a starting point for teachers, students, and those interested in 3D engineering design. It is hoped that this programme will contribute in promoting the culture of design and generating creative solutions for the target groups, which begin with understanding the basics of 3D engineering design, raising awareness about 3D design and printing techniques, and transforming students’ skills in this field to practical experience gained by them.”
The Undersecretary confirmed that 110 teachers from various governorates of the Sultanate will be trained along with 106 students from A’Sharqiyah North Governorate.
