Muscat- The packaging market in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) is forecast to grow during the period 2014-19 at a CAGR of 5.0% to US$52.4 billion (2013 prices) while the logistics sector in Oman is set to grow beyond the $12 billion mark by 2017, with Oman looking to transform itself into a major industrial and logistics hub for the region and beyond. Keeping in line with these industrial developments, OITE Trade Fairs will be launching the first edition of the Oman Packaging and Material Handling Exhibition (OPMEX) from 8-10 February 2016 at the Oman International Exhibition Centre.
“Backed by the support of the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE), OPMEX will bring renowned processing and packaging suppliers to Oman along with companies involved in material handling, logistics, storage, racking, warehouse solutions and intra-logistics. With Middle Eastern countries having accounted for a projected share of almost three-quarters of total packaging sales in the MENA region in 2014 & Oman’s logistics sector receiving more attention in recent years, given its importance in the promotion of the national economy, it is well-timed that OPMEX take place in the Sultanate of Oman” says Mr. Tarek Ali, General Manager- Exhibitions, OITE Trade Fairs.
As Oman’s most complete processing & packaging show for machinery, equipment, materials and services, OPMEX will give visitors a chance to meet big industry players under one roof including names like Regionality, Industrial Packing International LLC, Al Thika Packaging LLC, Technical Supplies & Services Co. LLC, Sohar Paper Cores LLC, Golden Line Printing & Packaging, JASPA and TVH.
