Metal and Recycling Company (MRC), a leading eco-industrial company, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with fellow Kuwaiti entity Omniya, a nonprofit focused on plastic recycling, to support national sustainability efforts.
Under the agreement, Omniya will be responsible for collecting plastic waste directly from the source. MRC, in turn, will process this collected waste through its advanced facilities in line with global standards, enabling its safe reuse across various industries.
The key objectives of this initiative are to promote source-level plastic sorting as a sustainable practice, empower students and educators to take environmental action, encourage wider community participation, and align local efforts with global recycling standards
The partnership reinforces the commitment of both organisations in supporting Kuwait’s sustainability goals and advancing a greener economy.
Tarek Al-Mousa, Vice Chairman and CEO of MRC, highlighted the company’s crucial role in driving industrial sustainability and supporting community initiatives. Concurrently, Omniya COO Farah Shaban emphasised the collaboration’s importance in promoting the circular economy and strengthening public-private cooperation, particularly within the education sector.
