A delegation from the College of Communication at the University of Fujairah organized a visit to Masar Printing and Publishing, part of Dubai Media Incorporated (DMI), and one of the most advanced printing presses in the Middle East and Africa. The visit aimed at providing practical knowledge and experience of the printing industry and the latest technologies used in printing.
The group, led by assistant professor Dr. Ahmed Mostafa Kamel, exchanged greetings on behalf of the university chancellor Prof. Sameh Ghwanmeh and college dean Dr. Mohamed Mallek with the management team at Masar, and also congratulated the company for being ranked 1st regionally and 2nd globally for outstanding printing quality by WAN-IFRA, the global organisation of the world’s press.
The students of mass communication participated in interactive lectures by industry experts on production procedures used in newspaper and commercial printing. The students also got a first-hand experience of the production and printing of the Holy Quran at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Holy Quran Printing Center.
Dr. Kamel added that the visit provided a practical insight into the academic course in media production, with discourses on topics such as technology and modern trends in media production and design.
