The Jordan Press Foundation has appointed Heyam Al-karaki as its new general manager. The foundation’s board of directors revealed that the selection was in accordance with its leadership appointment system.
Holding a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Jordan’s Mutah University, Al-karaki joined the Arabic daily newspaper Alrai in May 1997 as a computer programmer. Her diploma in human resources from a German varsity further helped her professionally to handle various technical and management positions.
In March 2021, Al-karaki had the distinction of becoming the first woman to be appointed as deputy general manager at Alrai. Over a career spanning 27 years, she has acquired rich experience in both administrative and executive work.
Besides Alrai, the government-owned Jordan Press Foundation also publishes The Jordan Times, an English daily newspaper, from Amman.
