The Public Library of the Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation in the Jordanian capital Amman, organized an educational seminar entitled: “Digital Manufacturing”, during which Engineer Ahmed Fares from the Ideas Factory (one of the initiatives of the Crown Prince Foundation) delivered speech. The seminar was hosted by Nizar Al-Hamoud, head of the e-reading services team at the Foundation.
Fares indicated that the Idea Factory is a digital manufacturing laboratory, which includes a number of modern 3D printing devices and equipment for prototyping and additive manufacturing. The Factory aims at supporting young innovators, encouraging technical education and strengthening the innovative spirit among Jordanian youths.
He explained that the Ideas Factory is an integrated umbrella that brings together researchers, scholars and innovators, and provides them with the opportunity to manufacture prototypes for their products using advanced technology.
During hi inaugural speech, Al-Hamoud underlined the importance of additive manufacturing in the production process in today’s industrial manufacturing environment and the necessary modern tools such as 3D printers and laser cutting equipment.
He also added that this educational session is the third this year, and it comes within a series of educational sessions organized by the Shoman Library in order to spread culture and raise awareness of various issues of interest to the local community.
