The Industrial Research and Development Authority of the Ministry of Industry and Minerals in Iraq announced that it has joined World Packaging Organization (WPO). The World Packaging Organization is a non-profit, non-governmental, international federation of national packaging institutes and associations, regional packaging federations and other interested parties including corporations and trade associations. According to the Iraqi ministry the agreement was signed during the regular meeting of the organization’s general assembly via a closed-circuit television, attended by the General Director of the Commission. Following the agreement with WPO, Iraq has become part of the group of the Arab countries including Tunisia, Lebanon, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Morocco and Palestine that have already joined the organization.
