The sixth edition of the international textile fair Intertex Tunisia will open its doors tomorrow to a large audience waiting to explore the world of textiles and discover the latest trends.
The three-day fair, being held at Foire Internationale de Sousse from 17-19 October, 2024, will see some of the world’s leading players in the ever-evolving textile industry come together under a single roof. Organized by US-based B Group and supported by the Tunisian Apparel and Textile Federation (FTTH), Intertex Tunisia will also highlight the advances made in the local textile industry.
With the success of the 2023 edition that featured 250 exhibitors from 17 countries, with more than 6,000 textile professionals from 26 countries, the organisers are expecting a larger attendance this year.
A diverse range of exhibitors from ready-to-wear; fabrics; fibre and yarn; wool, silk, lace, and embroidery; home textile; buttons and zippers; digital printing; and textile machinery will display their latest products and services to a targeted audience of industry professionals, buyers, and decision makers.
The event will shed light on the challenges and future prospects of the textile industry in Tunisia, with emphasis on energy, ecological, digital, and technological transition to meet the challenges of the sector. “Besides promoting partnerships and showcasing Tunisian products, Intertex Tunisia will also look into the investment potential in technical textiles and premium products,” says FTTH President Haithem Bouagila.
“Tunisia has been chosen for its global reputation in textiles and its strong trade relations with Europe, particularly with France, Italy, and Spain. Despite the economic challenges, Tunisia remains an attractive destination for foreign investment in the textile sector, attracting many major international brands. This exhibition represents an opportunity for Tunisia to position itself as a regional textile hub in the Mediterranean,” says B Group Managing Director Serhan Pul.
Tunisia’s textile exports grew by 16.78% in the first quarter of 2023, reaching 788.3 million euros, with the EU being the primary destination for ready-to-wear clothing, accounting for 81% of the total exports.
Intertex Tunisia 2024 promises ample opportunities to discover the emerging trends, explore cutting-edge textile products, meet key players in the industry, and unlock new business opportunities.
