CRON-ECRM, the North American distributor for CRON CTP systems, has launched the 26H package for the small format offset printer. The bundled solution includes the CRON CTP Model 26H fully automatic platesetter; the Blackwood Emerald UV, low-chemistry plate system; and the WPT70 low-chemistry wash-out unit. Targeted at the small commercial offset printer, the package is ideally designed to replace polyester, metal and iCTP systems that are at the end of life cycle, providing a major reduction in cost, and delivered in a smaller footprint. CRON-ECRM CTP Model 26H
This all-in-one, 26-inch platesetter combines fully-automated plate loading with precision imaging, punching, and transport integrated directly into the unit. The exposure engine is based on CRON’s magnetic linear drive platform, which provides fault-free imaging across a wide choice of resolutions, with registration accuracy up to 0.01mm and a tonal range of 1-99%, in both conventional and stochastic screening. With a total footprint just 60% the size of comparable units, this system offers high performance alongside improved convenience and cost efficiency.
Blackwood Emerald UV Low Chemistry Plate
The Blackwood Emerald plates are designed to not only streamline the production process, speeding up CTP, but also reduce costs and support a higher level of environmental responsibility, minimizing the consumption of chemicals and water for the UV-exposed plates. With a simple, pH-neutral wash-out, plates are press-ready in seconds, with perfect dot reproduction from 1-98% in both conventional and stochastic screening. The run length is up to 50,000 without baking. The Emerald UV plates combine an aluminum base with multi-layer electrochemical graining, along with a high sensitivity coating, excellent plate adhesion, and robust performance.
WPT70 Wash-Out Unit
Rounding out the package, the WPT70 wash-out unit has a low environmental impact, and is the perfect partner for the Blackwood Emerald UV plates. It uses a non-toxic and non-corrosive, phosphate-free, low-alkaline developing solution that is similar to ordinary laundry powder. It can use either an inclusive built in water re-circulation or a tap water supply, making it versatile for any shop without the need of permanent plumbing.
The CRON-ECRM 26 CTP Bundle is commercially available in North America starting from June 1, 2017. The initial installation of these systems across North America are slated to commence in June 2017.
