A new printing press was inaugurated in Baghdad, Iraq by Dr. Salah Abdul Razzaq, Governor of the state. The Central Press, which was inaugurated last month, has a capital worth 1.5 million US dollars and aims to promote the education sector in the region.
He also said that Baghdad province has supported the project by providing land for the press and the printing press will now be able to meet the printing requirements of all government departments, schools and other organizations. He said that the new press offers competitive price rates to the public sector, making printing affordable.
The governor asked all government departments to coordinate with the printing press for their printing and publishing requirements, especially as it is located within the province. He added that the press employs trained workers, who are skilled in operating modern printing machinery. The press equips a Heidelberg Speed Master 4 colour and a complete workflow system along with other devices.
Sadek Kanani, an official from the printing press said that the press can undertake to do all kinds of commercial jobs including newspapers, magazines, banners and posters. He mentioned that the press is scheduled to work 24 x 7 and will cater to meet the requirements of clients. Kanani also added that the press is equipped with the latest printing technologies and solutions as well as a 100 x70 cm printing press equipped with automatic washing and cleaning systems.
