Central Bank to Print New Bills

The Central Bank of Egypt to print a new set of banknotes, which will carry the signature of the newly appointed central bank governor, Hisham Ramez. To this date the Egyptian pounds were signed by Dr. Farouk El Okdah, former governor, who had held office for more than 9 years. The tenure of Dr. Farouk, as governor ended last month.

The Egyptian currencies will be printed at the Central Bank press located in Giza. 7Youm newspaper reports that the newly printed notes will replace the earlier ones in the coming months.

The denomination of the bank notes to be printed by the Central Bank of Egypt includes 5 pounds, 10, 20, 100 and 200 pounds. The smaller bills including 25pts, 50pts and 1pound will be issued by the Ministry of Finance.
