Canon Middle East recently deployed its proprietary document management and printing solutions to Schlumberger Petroleum, one of the biggest companies operating in the oil and gas sector in the region.
With Canon’s business solutions in place, Schlumberger Petroleum has consolidated and centralised its printing infrastructure; with Canon’s latest mono and colour machines, which according to Canon has helped to reduce printing costs and established a more efficient workflow with less manpower intervention.
“Canon has provided us with a truly innovative business solution that fits our need for a more systematic and cost-efficient workflow when it comes to printing and managing our documents. As a result, we have been able to do more with less,” said Inas Talat, Facilities Manager, Schlumberger Petroleum.
The oil and gas sector has been a strategic focus of Canon’s business development plan. Winning Schlumberger Petroleum’s business will enable the company to grow its business in the oil and gas sector in the region. Schlumberger Petroleum has in fact also tapped Canon for its other subsidiaries, such as Smith, Pathfinder, Western Geco and Dawel Schlumberger.

Canon’s exclusive distributor in Egypt, ETCO, worked with Schlumberger Petroleum to identify its needs and deploy the appropriate business solutions.
“After a thorough review of their business, we recommended to centralise Schlumberger’s print workstations as well as migrate to our multi-function machines to reduce cost and control the print workflow. Not only did it result in cost-savings, but allowed greater efficiency and control in the company’s print process,” explained Adel Hanna, CEO, ETCO, Egypt.
In addition to the consolidated machines, Canon provided two resident engineers to monitor the workflow, maintain the machines on the spot and solve major issues.
