Ba-Kathir Press Foundation Signs For a Screen CtP

Ba-Kathir press, printing and publishing foundation in Yemen signed with Al Kamel Establishment for Trade and Industry for a Screen CtP machine and its accessories. Based on the contract, which was signed for 517,050 Euros, the platesetter will be delivered and commissioned within 6 months from the date of signing the contract.

The CtP machine is expected to complement the modernization and development plans of Ba-Kathir press. During the signing ceremony, Abdulaziz Jaber, Director of the press thanked Information Minister Ali Ahmed al Amrani and Governor of Hadramout, Khaled Al- Daini for their support to this project. He mentioned that another project costing 20 million Yemeni riyals will be launched soon.

The overhauling and replacement of the equipment is part of the foundation’s investment program for 2013. Abdulaziz said that the project includes replacement of old equipments with new one as well as the complete renewal of the premises, including electric systems, water, sanitization, air conditioning and other safety features. He added that new offices and building would be built at a cost of 28 million riyals.

Jaber noted that these projects gained momentum following the presidential decree, which ordered the printing press to publish a November 30 daily newspaper. He said that the renewal process will ensure that employees are able to work within framework of international standards using the latest technology available. He added that Ba-Kathir is the only government institution in Hadhramout.
