Avery Dennison to Show Off Innovative Products at Labelexpo 2017

At the upcoming Labelexpo show in Brussels, Avery Dennison is building on its show theme of “Pioneering Change,” and will showcase a broad portfolio of innovative products to help converters spur growth and unlock new industry opportunities.

“We have many ways to help you ‘Change Your Horizons’ and open new paths for growth,” says Georg Müller-Hof, vice president marketing Europe. “Ever since inventing the self-adhesive label, Avery Dennison has been creating innovative product solutions. Our mission is to help label converters to source and use labels that look good, comply with regulations, excel in real-world performance, and convert successfully.”

“Our unique combination of facestock and adhesive expertise has led us to develop labels that deliver both high performance and extended functionality,” adds Müller-Hof.

At Labelexpo, Avery Dennison will display a vast range of solutions, including:•Heat-activated adhesive

The innovative patent-pending heat-activated adhesive technology allows manufacturers of automotive interior and safety components and OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) to apply safety and warning labels onto woven and non-woven textiles without sewing. Many such OEMs need a solution for “permanent” marking/labelling of their products covering multiple substrates, multiple conditions and meeting automotive requirements.

Today there is a limited number of suitable technologies with narrow application windows, including ink transfer by heat, heat-seal label, and direct (silk screen) printing. Avery Dennison’s heat-activated acrylic adhesive is changing the game in this space, offering cost efficient and higher performance solutions.

When it comes to performing in harsh conditions, the Hot Metal Label, which is part of the Heavy Industrial Labelling portfolio, allows label converters to offer producers of metal and steel parts a highly effective option – an easy-to-apply label that ensures traceability throughout the manufacturing process.

This innovative, white top-coated, aluminium label material offers extremely high abrasion and solvent resistance for thermal transfer print. It can also withstand peak temperatures up to +375°C. Other options in the portfolio include hanging tags and self-adhesive labels that allow the addition of tracking information to raw materials such as metal, timber and stone.

Meanwhile, digital printing continues to gain acceptance, and water-based inkjet and UV inkjet technologies are also growing in popularity. Avery Dennison has extended its offerings to address the growing demand of solutions that differentiate with innovative label designs and print in small production runs.

These new offerings include an exclusive silver water-based inkjet film and a premium range of textured UV inkjet materials – all of which help to differentiate products on the shelf. The UV inkjet materials feature a new and unique topcoat, that – unlike traditional UV inkjet top coatings – retains both the look and the feel of the textured base paper.
