Al-Imam University Invests In A New Roland 700 Hiprint

One of the biggest government printers in Saudi Arabia has added to its vast stable of Manroland technology a new eight-colour Roland 700 HiPrint perfecting press as it battles to meet the boom in learning.

The printing house of Al-Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University (IMBSU) is a government print shop serving the university’s demands for literature and student books. It is a loyal Manroland customer and now has eight ROLAND presses.

IMBSU has more than 150 staff and aspires to be a world-class model in learning, education and scientific research based on Islamic values and teachings. The university, which is composed of 11 colleges, has been expanding continually since it was established in 1974.

But its success raises other issues. How to meet the rising demand for teaching materials and study books? How to ensure consistent premium print quality and stable production for every job? How to reduce the make-ready time and increase productivity?

Well it seems the university found the answer in all- new ROLAND 700 HiPrint perfecting press.

Ibrahim Al Moheimeed, Printing Press Manager of IMBSU said “Manroland’s short make-ready time, consistent premium print quality, low waste rate, and the high efficiency will help us to respond to university’s increasing demand for high quality printed products. New faculties and department are added each year to the university which pushes us to invest in new and state-of-the art equipment in order to be able to cater to the rising demand for high quality printed products,”.

He adds,” We always had good relations with Manroland and we are satisfied their quality and support. A team of experts from our company visited company’s plant in Offenbach during Drupa 2012 and they liked what they saw. Manroland now enjoys stability following the acquisition by Langley group.”

Other than the new Roland 700 the printing press has a wide range of equipment and software from design to post press which practically makes it a one stop shop for university’s wide range of printing requirements. The print shop is also equipped with and state-of-the-art ventilation system to provide a hazardous free working environment.

Al Moheimeed also praises the excellent support from Alkhorayef Printing Solutions, Manroland’s local partner in Saudi Arabia.

He says, “We should not forget the Alkhorayef Printing Solutions has played a crucial role in development of printing industry in Saudi Arabia. The company offers top notch, round the clock service to its customers in KSA.”
