3rd Global Media Congress to Focus on AI, Digital Disruption

Following two successful editions, Abu Dhabi is all set to welcome global media experts to the third edition of the Global Media Congress at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi from 26-28 November, 2024. The three-day conference is being held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court.

This year’s media conference under the theme ‘Shaping Future Media’ is aimed at facilitating global business connections and brand reinvention in the new media landscape. The mega event aims to provide opportunities for international transfer of knowledge to the UAE and the wider GCC in key media sectors; for buyers and sellers from across the region to meet, exchange ideas, and do business; and serves as an ideal platform for global companies looking to engage in media markets in the GCC and MENA regions.

The specialised conference will have dedicated sessions focusing on key topics led by high-level experts in the industry from across the globe. Three themes – The Business of Media, Content is King, and Digital Disruption – will feature a series of day-long panel sessions and keynotes on a huge range of topics including critical issues driving today’s media world; youth and digital media; evolving news landscape; AI-powered newsroom; film and digital entertainment; the art of storytelling; covering conflicts; AI-proofing media; how new media technologies are shaping the future of the industry; podcasting, journalism, and radio resilience; and combating fake news on social media, among others.

Create stage: Social media influencers have a strong presence in the region and the Global Media Congress will bring together some of the most prominent influencers in the Middle East to network, collaborate, and share their wisdom with new and upcoming influencers. This platform offers established content creators a chance to share practical insight on how to grow audiences, how to create engaging content, and how to monetise and make influencing a career.

Media Future Labs: Returning after its successful launch in 2022, Media Future Labs will tackle the most pressing issues facing the global media landscape in 2024 and beyond. A series of 60-minute roundtable discussions will bring together leaders, operators, and innovators on the frontlines of world media to examine the challenges and opportunities faced by players across the media spectrum. Topics on the agenda range from the role of AI in the newsroom, to climate reporting, and the next generation of media professionals.

Workshops: A series of training and talent development workshops will be hosted providing attendees with the opportunity to develop new skills and nurture existing ones. The workshops are aligned to the main conference and will address sustainability, sports broadcasting, AI, and the latest technologies in the sector.
