Libya to Speed up Printing of Textbooks for Students

Omran Al-Qeeb, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Libya’s new Government of National Unity, held a meeting with representatives of a number of local printing companies to discuss the possibility of urgently providing textbooks to students of basic education.

The Ministry said on its Facebook page that the heads and delegates of local printing companies reviewed and shared their experiences in the field of textbook printing, their capabilities in general, and the time frame they would need to get the job done, during their meeting with Al-Qeeb in Tripoli.

The meeting was held to find an optimal mechanism for urgently providing textbooks and distributing it to all schools in the near future.

In response to Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah’s confirmation of the allocation of funds for printing and distributing textbooks, the Ministry recently confirmed that an amount of 190 million Libyan dinars is still in its account to be used exclusively for the purpose of printing and distributing the textbooks for students of the 2021-2022 school years.
