Fedrigoni Metamorphoses from Plastic to Paper

Italian paper giant Fedrigoni Group is promoting its aptly-named mono-material Metamorphosis range, made entirely from paper to replace plastic, with the advantage of being fully recyclable while guaranteeing the latter’s properties.

The top global player in high value-added specialty papers is promoting Materia Viva, papers that include anti-fingerprint, anti-grease, anti-mould, anti-scratch, clean cut, enriched reflection, extra strength, food contact, heat sealable, high rigidity, light-resistant, metallic, photographic paper, stretchable, thermoformed pulp, translucent, and water-resistant properties.

Marketing and R&D VP at Fedrigoni Paper Micaela Di Trana says, “The innovation introduced by Metamorphosis, inspired by the principles of the circular economy, is a concrete example of Fedrigoni Group’s “Making Progress” approach to issues related to sustainability, which in the context of the development of new products, pushes for increasingly cutting-edge solutions, capable of combining performance, aesthetics, and care for the environment.”

The Metamorphosis range represents the second volume and the latest instalment in Fedrigoni’s ecologically-friendly Materia Viva line, succeeding Materia Viva Roots collection which featured papers with high natural fibre content and a high percentage of recycled content.

“Replacing plastic with paper is possible in several applications and it is also aesthetically appealing,” sums up Di Trana.
